Qualifications - A demonstrated track record of designing digital products for consumers with measurable business impact - A deep understanding of the end-to-end iterative product design process, including how to develop and use wireframing, prototyping, user testing, and high fidelity visuals   - Passion for solving core product problems while owning all facets of a user experience (strategy, interaction design, and research)   - Experience collaborating with multiple disciplines including product, engineering, data analysts and more   - Structured thinking and measurable impact demonstrated in a portfolio of live projects   How We Hire  Step 1: Hiring Manager Chat Timing: <1 week from application - You’ll talk to a leader of our product management and design team on a 30-45 minute Zoom call. There’s nothing to prepare in advance, but we encourage you to do your own research ahead of time so you can come prepared with questions. - First, we want to figure out if you’ve got the right experience for this position and if working at Assurance is a fit for both of us. This call will be conversational in nature and will cover professional background and future aspirations, a deep dive into the role and team structure, and a chance for you to ask questions!   Step 2: Panel Presentation Timing: Usually within 1-2 weeks of hiring manager chat, allowing for candidate prep time - This will be a 45-minute presentation, 30 minutes of which will be spent covering one or two examples of product design work which you have previously delivered or to which you have significantly contributed. This is an opportunity to showcase your ability to move through the design process from idea to wireframe to final product, and evaluate ways in which you would improve upon execution or impact if given the chance. - The panel presentation will be conducted with a cross-functional group of product managers, designers, engineers, and other business stakeholders who will ask questions for the remaining 15 minutes. Do you sell insurance?

Yes, our product is a powerful digital platform that connects users with licensed agents who help them find insurance and/or financial products tailored to their circumstances. We are not the carrier or underwriter of the insurance and financial products.

What’s your policy around remote work?

We are working to create a hybrid environment that will help us grow our globally remote worker base while providing in-person collaboration opportunities across our several offices. Our goal is to keep our work culture fun, interactive, and connected with weekly all-hands, team-bonding activities, and regular learning opportunities (like Data Science Fridays).

Are your sales associates full-time or contract?

We’re building a hybrid model where agents can choose to work how they want: both W2 and 1099 positions are available. We’re also working with all agents to create a community that helps them feel better connected to Assurance and other agents. Many of our agents say working for Assurance is a great way to build their career and/or business selling health and financial wellness products.

Do I need to have insurance experience?

If you’re applying for a corporate role: Nope! While many of our core team members do bring relevant industry experience, insurance or financial services experience is not required. If you have the right technical background and/or other qualifications, a lack of insurance experience won’t block your success.

If you’re applying as a sales agent: For the most part, yes, we do expect our agents to be certified and have sales experience with varied specializations in insurance and/or financial services. That said, we have a growing number of opportunities for professionals who are looking to kick off a career in insurance, and we provide support for people to learn and grow in these roles.
